According to relevant Chinese laws and regulations, and with reference to international practice and experience, starting from 1st December 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Jordan will collect all ten fingerprints of all applicants applying for Chinese visa.

Exemptions for the fingerprint requirements are granted to:

1. Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

2. Applicants holding a diplomatic passport or eligible for application of diplomatic, service and courtesy visa of China;

3. Applicants who have applied for Chinese visas to the same Chinese Embassy or Consulate with the same passports and have had fingerprints collected within 5 years;

4. Applicants with all the ten fingers disabled or fingerprints unable to be collected.

Applicants shall bear all the legal consequences including denial of entry for forged fingerprints or using other people's fingerprints for visa application.

The Embassy kindly requests all visa applicants to fill the online application form (https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn/) and make the appointment (https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn), and submit passports and other required documents to the Embassy with the printed complete application form and signed Confirmation of Online Visa Application as per scheduled appointment. The diplomatic and official passport holders as well as those who apply for diplomatic or official visas do not need to make an appointment but are still required to fill in and print the complete online application form pursuant to the above-mentioned requirements.

The collection of applicants' fingerprints is in conjunction with the international visa technology development trend and will perfect the collection means of personal information of applicants. It has not increased the threshold of requirements for Chinese visa. China remains committed to improving the level of facilitation for visits of Chinese and foreign citizens, welcoming foreigners visiting China and will provide all necessary visa facilitation for this purpose.
