Newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Presents Credentials to King Abdullah

On March 7, H.E. Mr. Chen Chuandong, new ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, presented his credentials to His Majesty King Abdullah ibn Al Hussein at the Basman Palace.

Ambassador Chen conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping’s to King Abdullah, and hailed Jordan’s achievements under the leadership of His Majesty and its important role in international and regional affairs. Ambassador Chen said that he was honoured to represent China in Jordan in a very special year as Jordan celebrates its Centenary and the Communist Party of China celebrates 100th Anniversary of its founding. He pledged to work with Jordanian partners to fully implement the important consensus reached between heads of state of the two countries, make unremitting efforts to enhance friendship between the two peoples, promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries.

His Majesty King Abdullah asked Ambassador Chen to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping and welcomed Ambassador Chen to his new post. The King praised the friendly relations between Jordan and China and reaffirmed the importance Jordan attaches to continued cooperation in various fields.

Ambassador Chen arrived in Amman on December 28, 2020, and presented a copy of his credentials to Ambassador Yousef Batayneh, Secretary-General of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on January 13, 2021.
