Chinese ambassador visits Arab Potash Company

Jordan Valley, June 23 (Petra)--Chinese ambassador to Jordan Yue Xiaoyong said relations between Jordan and China are distinguished. During a visit on Thursday to the Arab Potash Company factories in Ghor El-Safi, the Ambassador said that trade exchange between Jordan and China stood at $2 billion in 2010, adding the Chinese government is keen to further increase trade exchange between the two friendly countries. He said the Potash Company factory was one of the best in the world due to the existence of modern technology and skilled laborers. Ambassador Yue also hailed the quality of potash produced at the factory and which is imported by China to be used as fertilizers, noting that China ranks second after India in importing Jordanian potash. He also urged Chinese businessmen to import Jordanian potash as it enjoys a high quality. General Manager of the Arab Potash Company Keith Thornton said the visit of the Chinese Ambassador and his accompanying delegation comes within relations between the company and Chinese businessmen. He added that the visit will contribute to boosting cooperation between Chinese companies and the Arab Potash Company in the trade field. Earlier, the Chinese mbassador met with a number of officials from the company and discussed cooperation between the two sides.
