Jordan, China exploring economic cooperation

AMMAN (Petra) - Work is under way to form a joint Jordanian-Chinese technical work team to draw up an integrated Jordanian-Chinese economic programme for the next three years, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Suhair Al-Ali said on Sunday. During a meeting with a Chinese delegation chaired by Chen Jiwa, deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party's Committee of the Guangxi Zhuangzu autonomous region, Al-Ali, who is also acting foreign minister, expressed the Kingdom's desire to expand its cooperation with China. Al-Ali briefed the visiting delegation on the mega-projects Jordan is planning to undertake, including the railway project, stressing the country's interest in cooperating with Chinese companies to carry out these projects.
