Jordanian Senate President Met with Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress

President of the Senate Zeid Rifai met in the Chinese capital on Tuesday with Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress.Rifai expressed the senate's pride and appreciation of the distinguished relations between Jordan and China, particularly in the parliamentary fields. He also voiced Jordan's keenness to continue developing these relations for the interest of both peoples. "Jordan views with pride and respect accomplishments that have been achieved by China especially in the economic reform area," he added.The senate president pointed out that Jordan made big strides in the economic and social reform domain and finished the process of reviewing laws and regulations that accelerate economic growth.He called for expanding the existing economic ties between the two countries through setting up joint industrial and economic
projects.Regarding parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, Rifai affirmed the importance of cooperation, coordination and consultation among parliamentary institutions in both Jordan and China. On Jordan's efforts in the region, he stressed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is doing its utmost to achieve peace and stability in Iraq to enable the Iraqi people to start the process of reconstruction. "King Abdullah's efforts are directed towards realizing a peaceful solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.


The Chinese official for his part expressed China's appreciation and admiration of efforts being exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to enhance social stability in the Kingdom and develop Jordan's economy. He also voiced satisfaction over the advanced level that Jordanian-Chinese relations have reached, stressing the importance of developing these relations in all fields.
